Is Generic Nexium The Same As Non-generic Nexium?

Question: I have a hiatal hernia. I have taken NEXIUM for many years but insurance co. will no long supply. Generics do not work and I have severe side effects. My son takes LIQUID NEXIUM which works for him. My doctor has not heard of it. What can I do? I need to take the reqular NEXIUM.

Generic Nexium 24 hr is also available, which is similar in composition to non-generic Nexium. But some individuals report reduced effectiveness with generic Nexium 24 Hr. Nexium 24 Hr is only available in 20 mg.
