Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
I would like to know her actual blood pressure values?
Her symptoms could be related to anxiety.
Nevertheless, considering her other symptoms (numb hands and chest pain), I would recommend bringing her to the ER for a physical exam and some tests:
- a resting ECG and cardiac enzymes
- a chest X ray study
- some other blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR, blood electrolytes).
If all these tests result normal, you should consider anxiety as the main cause of her troubles.

We were not able to get any blood pressure readings. Generally, her blood pressure is healthy. She was not doing anything out of the usual when this happened. Over the last few weeks, the app she uses to measure her heart rate has detected heart palpations, as well as being able to feel it. We will monitor her condition and schedule a doctor's appointment for ASAP, unless it happens again, which we will go to the ER.

Hello again!
As I already explained, these episodes could be related to anxiety.
But, it is necessary exclude a possible cardiac arrhythmia or a metabolic disorder (chronic anemia, electrolyte imbalance, thyroid dysfunction), which can lead to this clinical scenario.
That is why, I would recommend consulting with her attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:
- a cardiac ultrasound
- an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring to examine her heart rhythm trends for a prolonged time
- complete blood count for anemia
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.
You should discuss with her doctor on the above tests.
