Is Heart Rate Of 230 Bpm A Cause For Concern?
Question: I had Tachycardia for three months straight, thinking it was my nerves and anxiety attacks. I almost passed out twice one morning, so went to hospital to see what was happening. My Heart Rate/Pulse (?) was 230 beats per minute. The Doctor stopped my Heart with medication, and re-started it again to slow down my Heart Rate. I still get it at times. My question is: Having Tachycardia for three months straight, was any damage done to my Heart? I told the doctor I only had it for two weeks, as I didn't want to appear that Stupid!
Brief Answer:
get your ECG and echocardiography done.

I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.
Since 230 heart rate is very high and it put a lot of stress on heart .In your case , if you havent develop any shortness of breath, fainting or chest pain then heart should be unaffected. The best way to determine whether it has affected heart or not is via ECG and echocardiography. If these two comes out normal then there is no need to worry.
Meanwhile stay calm and continue with your medication.
Hope it helps if you still have any query feel free to ask
