Is Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Mifepristone A Sign Of Completed Abortion?

Question: Hi, I'm 5 weeks pregnant and took the prescribed course for abortion by using Mifepristone plus Misoprostol. I took Mifepristone on 26.07.17 and as per my doctor's instructions took the 4 Misoprostol tablets by inserting them in my vagina. Today morning i had heavy bleeding before taking the Misoprostol course. After i took the course i'm still experiencing severe cramps but the bleeding was light. Did the abortion process take place successfully?

So, the heavy bleeding you had after mifepristone is suggestive of abortion.
Misoprostol induces uterine contraction leading to cramps and bleeding.
There will be bleeding for maximum 5-7 days.
The success of the abortion can be assessed by proper internal examination and an ultrasound 14 days after the mifepristone intake.
