You should avoid heavy work specially weight lifting.

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. I think you should avoid Strenous activities. You should particularly avoid weight lifting. Whenever you have pain you can take analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. Rest is helpful.Back excercises are of help.

You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Weight lifting can increase annular tear.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back
Stress on spine such as weight lifting can increase the annular tear. Otherwise without stress it is likely to heal with time. Following is link of back excercises. http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/adult-health/multimedia/back-pain/sls-0000
