Question: I am 25 yrs old and my hemoglobin is 18 can you suggest ways to reduce it or this is normal.
Brief Answer:
A Hb level of 18 does not indicate disease state if other parameters normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
Hemoglobin (Hb) level of 18 does not indicate a disease state.
Although the upper limit for hemoglobin in males is at 16 gm% or 17 gm%.
Hemoglobin level can be on higher side in individuals living in high altitude region, people consuming non-vegetarian food, etc.
So, there is nothing to worry and no need to reduce the hemoglobin level if all other parameters are normal.
Thanks and take care
