This is regarding my wife, who is expecting right now.
She is thalassemia minor. Her HB is right now 9.3.
Just want to know, what should be minimum HB while delivery. Is there a need to go for iron drip, as her delivery is scheduled next month.

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your wife has thallasemia minor. Her hemoglobin level is 9.3.
Normally hemoglobin level should be above 10 at time of delivery to avoid complications.
In pregnancy iron demand increases as blood volume increases. So iron supplements are required.
As such iron can not help in thallasemia minor. But in most of the cases there is associated iron deficiency anemia.
So iron therapy is required. Her hemoglobin is 9.3 so its not too low. And she is taking livogen tablet.
So according to my opinion livogen tablet is OK. Injectable iron is not required.
Close monitoring of hemoglobin is required.
Don't worry much about that. Just be relaxed.
