Question: After they administered TPA and transfer the patient from ICU to the room. When do you start the PT? And how often? YYYY@YYYY
Brief Answer:
Depends on the patient's condition
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting the query.
After TPA and transferring the patient from ICU to room,PT can be started immediately or within the next 24-48 hours.
This depends solely on the general condition and health of the patient, his blood reports and the hemodynamic stability of the patient.
Depending upon the recovery and signs of improvement, the PT can be done once or twice daily for atleast 5-8 days.
Reassesment can be done after 1 week and depending upon the improvement,PT can be either discontinued or continued for few more days.
I hope the answer was useful.
You can ask me any doubts that you may have.
