Answer given below
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
No, chronic cough does not occur after gastroscopy.
If gastroscopy is done without sedation, the individual who undergoes gastroscopy may feel uncomfortable (not always and not everyone) and may not cooperate and may aspirate some amount of secretions which can cause cough during the procedure and may be for a while after the procedure.
(7 hours cough is not chronic cough).
If cough persists, you may need a throat examination and a chest xray done.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K
