Question: My gf had her last period on 24th march. She took an emergency contraceptive pill last week and started bleeding yesterday. Is any additional medication required to stop the bleeding? Or will it go away on its own?

Brief Answer:
You need not worry about the bleeding, it will subside.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I appreciate your concern for your gf bleeding following emergency contraceptive pill.

Due to the high doses of hormones, the emergency contraceptive pill is more likely to cause bleeding which will be resolved within two or three days.

If it becomes excessive or if it does not stop or is associated with
abdominal pain or dizziness), if the bleeding lasts more than a few days, then you are advised to take your gf for a gynecological consultation.

Hope this answers your query.
Regards.

Bleeding is not an adverse effect of Amoxicillin.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back to HCM.

I am glad that my advice is found to be useful to you.
Amoxicillin is known to cause mild diarrhea as its side effect which is self limiting.
This side effect is reversible upon discontinuing the antibiotic.

Hope this answers your query.
Best regards.
