Is It Safe To Give Multiple Vaccinations Together?
Question: My baby is 5 weeks and 3 days old.(DOB-22Nov2014).
during birth he has taken vaccination BCG,OPV0,Hepatitis B1.
His next vaccination scedule is 3rd XXXXXXX (for DTPw1/DTPa1,OPV1+IPV1,Hepatatis B2, HIB1). my consulting paediatricin as also asking to give pneumococcal conjugate vaccine). all together.
so my question is
1 - is it ok to give all the vaccinations together??
2 - for DTP there were 2 options 1, painless & painfull. whcih one we should go for. is there any side impact of the pain less vaccine / in painfull is it tollerabkle by the baby.

1. Vaccines recommended at 6 weeks include all that you have mentioned along with pneumococcal vaccine and rotavirus vaccine drops.
It is absolutely safe and ok to give all these together rather than splitting them for 2 days.
2. DtwP is painful vaccination but nowadays brands like pentagon and combifive have less pain. You can go for them.
Painless Dtap is less protective than the above. Latest guidelines recommend only DtwP.
Yes it is tolerable.
Paracetamol can be given for fever if it occurs.
