Is It Safe To Have Lisinopril Along With Metoprolol For High BP?

Question: My husband is prescribed two meds by two Dr. One is lisinopril 5mg tabs prescribed by our family Dr. the other is metoprolol prescribed by a heart Dr. My husband is 76 and had a pace maker in XXXXXXX last year. I was checking the mes and discover 2 blood pressure prescriptions. Thank you
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about!
Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thank you for asking on HCM! Regarding your concern I would like to assure you that there is nothing to worry about. Lisinopril and Metoprolol are commonly used together in the same person. Lisinopril as a blood vessel-dilator is the main antihypertensive drug; meanwhile Metoprolol helps to control fast heart rate and possible arrhythmia. Your husband is more safe (regarding Metoprolol) than the other patients, as he has a cardiac pacemaker implanted. So relax; nothing to worry about. It doesn't seem to be a mess.
Hope to have been helpful to you.
Feel free to ask me whenever you need! Greeting from Dr. Iliri.
