I have read that Magnesium interferes with Atenolol absorption. Is it still safe?
Brief Answer:
Yes it is safe.
Detailed Answer:
Magnesium is really a very safe medicine. And so is Afenolol. Even if there is some absorbtion reaction, it has minimal or no impact to Atenolol action. Atenolol should not be used with calcium channels blockers and digoxine. Other medicines are safe in most cases and so is Magnesium.
So I am pretty sure you can use both Magnesium and Atenolol together. But before taking any new medication, discuss with your treating doctor.
