80 proof alcohol 3.5 days before test - doe that make it clearer. this was a one time event at a bachelors party -I consumed about 4 oz. 3.5 days before test. Sorry for the delay - I have a sick dog on my hands.
I am on painkillers for six back fusions and constant pain otherwise I have been on the straight and narrow for almost 8 years - once I got on the pain medication I stayed away from booze or any other non prescribed drugs

Brief Answer:
Upto 80 hrs, alcohol can be detected in urine.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
80 proof of alcohol consumption means there will be 40% content of alcohol.
Alcohol can be detected in urine up to 80 hours of following its consumption which depends on the amount of alcohol consumption.
The test is known as ethyl glucuronide (ETG)test.
It is highly specific method to detect whether the person has taken alcohol or not, because it actually measures the active metabolite(ethyl glucuronude)of alcohol(ethanol) metabolism unlike in alcohol blood test.
If you are on medication like morphine, fentanyl, lorazepam then you must not take alcohol because alcohol increases release of this drugs in the blood and interferes with its metabolism in liver leading to increase the dose of the drug in blood causing side effects like dizziness, drowsiness or lack of concentration, rarely it might be life threatening.
So,you must not take alcohol while going on this medications or you seek advise from your treating physician regarding the dose of the drug.
Do ask if there is any query or duobt left.
