Is It Safe To Take Prednisone After Taking Overdose Of Albuterol?

Half of albuterol is eliminated in 4 hours
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
1. An overdose of albuterol can get dangerous. Therefore if you experience the following symptoms then please go to the ER:
Nervousness, headache, tremor, dry mouth, chest pain or heavy feeling, rapid or uneven heart rate, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, dizziness, seizure (convulsions), feeling light-headed or fainting. If you do not have these symptoms after 4 hours then you are safe. Please do not worry.
2. Albuterol has an elimination half-life of 3.8 hours. This means that in 4 hours, half of the intake dose has been flushed out of the system by itself. Therefore depending on how much you have overdosed, only half of it remains in your system right now.
3. Taking abluterol and prednisolone together might cause low potassium states in some patients taking both the medications. If you have been given prednisolone 5 mg by your doctor to be taken with albuterol then then you can take the 5 mg prednisolone as prescribed.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
