Is It Safe To Use Clobetasol For Seborrheic Dermatitis?
Question: Hi, I went to my dermatologist yesterday and was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis. My scalp itches, burns, and has skin flakes. My face has flakes that my moisturizer doesn't help. I have copd and not only inhale steroids daily, but take them for exacerbations. I also take more than my share fair of antibiotics which often sets me up for fungal infections as does the prednisone. I am on 60mg of prednisone right now and for probably another 2 days. She did swabs that haven't come back yet.
I was prescibed Clobetasol .05% shampoo. I've done a little research and found that is a steroid also. I don't think I should use it just yet. I'm trying to get contact my doctor but no luck so far.
All together I was prescribed the shampoo, kenalog spray, vytone, and promiseb. A little confused to what to use actually. I'm thinking the promiseb and perhaps the vytone would have taken care of it especially if it is of yeast/fungal origin. So, my question is what should I use? or not use?

Yes Clobetasol, Vyone and Kenalog are topical steroid preparations.I shall surely suggest if you can use them.
I would like to understand since how many days have you been on Tab.Prednisole?Was 60mg prescribed by your physician or self prescribed?
Have you been strictly following the dosage of medications that have been recommended by your physician for COPD?
According to me oral Prednisolone 60/day is little of a high dose when you have already on inhalation steroids.Hence I would strongly recommend to start the above medication for scalp problem once I you are done with our course of oral steroids.
