Is Long Term Usage Of Mirtazapine Safe For Anxiety And Depression?

Question: I have been on a prescription of mirtazapine (remeron ) 2 pills (15mg each) for approx. 2yrs, originally prescribed to combat anxiety, and depression. My Dr. advised that these had a very low addiction rate, and were relatively safe to use for the purpose prescribed. I realize not all persons would react in exactly the same way, but would appreciate you view. I am a male, 87 yrs. Thank you.XXXX

Thanks for asking in CHM.
mitrazapine is very good drug to overcome depression and anxiety. if you are not getting any desire effect than only their is need to go for OTHER ANTIDEPRESSANTS like tab escitalopram.
in my opinion you should take tab clonazepam mouth dissolving to overcome anxiety.
You can also go for counselling sessions and group therapies.
Visit your doctor to prescribe these drugs, only if you are not getting any relief otherwise mitrazepam is a good antidepressant. Just add clonazepam mouth dissolving tablet whenever you feel more anxiety.

It does not have any addictive property.
But rarely it causes dependency.
