Is Minor Bleeding After Removal Of IUD Post Menopause Normal?

Question: Hi. I am 55. Almost 56. Haven't had a period for a few years. I'm post menopause. Just had my mirena iud removed on February 1st. Today on feb 4, i had a tiny drop of redness on toilet paper. Is that normal after removal and after menopause?

The removal of IUD itself can cause a mild trauma inside the uterine cavity or the cervix causing a minor bleeding. This could have caused the redness on the toilet paper. There is no need to worry. This will gradually subside on its own in next day or two. It is an absolutely normal finding. In case any such blood tinged discharge persists beyond a week then do consult your gynecologist for further evaluation.
