Is My Blood Pressure Level Normal?
ADVICE FOR BLOOD PRESSURE READING 130/100
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.
I understand your concern.
Well from your previous queries within last few days, i have found that you have monitored your blood pressure daily and have kept us informed regularly.
Now, from the readings, your diastolic blood pressure is higher than normal and in the hypertensive range whereas your systolic blood pressure is in the prehypertensive range.
I should ask you that whether you are experiencing any symptoms of high blood pressure like headache, vertigo, tinnitus, palpitations etc and whether you have any prior co-morbidities like diabetes, heart or kidney diseases etc.
If not, i dont see much causes of worry as of now but some tests are needed to be performed.
Generally these cases are treated with lifestyle modification and regular checkup for blood pressure measurement and other signs.
I would recommend you the following-
Avoid alcohol and smoking.
Maintain a normal body weight and if you are obese, lose weight.
Avoid fatty and fast food, take lots of fruits and vegetables.
Limit intake of common salt to <5gram/day.
Do physical activities like brisk walking for 30mins per day.
Get a complete hemogram, serum urea/creatinine, lipid profile done
Monitor your blood pressure by a doctor or health professional, preferably manually.
Get an ECG 12 leads and a CHEST XRAY PA VIEW done.
You can contact me with the reports or see your doctor for further advice and management.
Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
Regards
