Pregnancy isn't possible until a woman attains menarche . Menarche is the start of the menstrual cycle in a woman. Unless regular monthly periods begin the body doesn't have the appropriate hormones to support pregnancy . But once the 1st period starts, certain hormones are present in the body that may cause conception . Regular contraception is advised in any woman who is sexually active.
