Is Pregnancy Possible Post Tubal Ligation?

Question: I got my tubes cut, tied and burnt, (a bipolar Coagulation) and got pregnant 3 months after. The baby was in the uterus and was healthy. We want to have another child. How possible do you think it is for me to get pregnant again? XXXXX
Brief Answer:
Yes, it is possible, please get an HSG done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Since you had a pregnancy following your tubal procedure, yes, theoretically it is possible for you to conceive again.
How long back was this pregnancy ?
You can objectively ascertain if your tubes are open or not by a simple test.
It involves an x ray of the tubes and will show you if the tubes are still open or closed.
This is called HSG - hysterosalpingogram.
Please get that done, so that you can estimate your chances of pregnancy again.
All the best.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

I got pregnant 3 months after the tubal ligation. I had the baby in dec 2014.
Brief Answer:
As below
Detailed Answer:
It is possible that the tubes have since spontaneously fibrosed and closed down.
On the other hand, it is possible that they are still patent.
An HSG will tell you the situation either ways, so please get that done.
Take care.
