Question: How well does a raw vegan diet really work for weight loss? What are the health benefits ? Does it provide enough nutrition to better and prolong life? Is it 100 prcnt worth switching to? Tnx. XXXXXX.

Vegan diet has one disadvantage. B12 deficiency can occur.

If you can take a supplement of B12 you can get all the nutrients from vegan diet.

There is no evidence that only vegan diet will provide better nutrition or prolong life.

A balanced diet is what is important. There should not be excess of any thing.

For example coconut in excess contains saturated fat. This could be harmful if consumed in excess. Fish is good for heart as it contains more of polyunsaturated fatty acids.

A section of society in India consume only vegetarian diet. There is no proof that they live longer.

What is important is regular exercise, stress free life, balanced diet XXXXXXX in fruits and vegetables.
