Is Saline Sonosalpingography Necessary Before IVF?
I am scheduled to start an IVF treamtent (lomg protocol) on the 21st day of my january cycle. I didn't have a HsG done, but had a saline sonografy as part of my infertility investigation. My question is: would it be useful for me to do a hsg prior to my ivf, since Ibread that fluid in tubes can have negative effects on ivf outcome? Also, could flushing my tubes contribute to my fertility, and does saline sonografy have similar effects on flushing the tubes as hsg? Thanks in advance! XXXX
No need of any such investigation
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety about this issue but there is no need of any such investigation.
I personally do just a hysteroscopy before ivf and that too I do in case there some problems with the flow during periods.
In patients with scanty menses there are chances of poor endometrial health so there cones a role of hysteroscopy.
So all in all no need to opt for HSG or saline salpingography and just focus on IVF treatment.
I myself practice infertility basically so in case you have any questions in future please feel free to ask.
Flushing of tubes by whatever method cab increase chances of pregnancy in young women who have time to wait for spontaneous conception but at your age and low AMH I would recommend IVF as soon as possible.
