Is Stomach Cramping And Tender Nipples A Symptom Of Menopause?
Question: I am 49 in two weeks. My last period was 21 st March, they were always about 24 or 26 days apart. My husband always uses a condom. I have cramps and pains like a period due but no bleeding. My nipples are tender. Is it the menopause or could I be pregnant..?
Brief Answer:
It can be either- Get pregnancy test
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
It can be either
a) Pregnancy : to confirm it i want you to do a pregnancy test with a Urine Pregnancy Test (UPT) kit. It costs cheap and is available in all pharmacy. The instructions on how to use it & how to read the test is given on the Kit Box
b) Menopausal changes : If your UPT is negative then it is the answer. You should take tablet Mefenamic Acid. It will reduce the cramps. You will need a written prescription for it.
Positive XXXXXXX 1 gene has nothing to do with it.
