superfood family powder,
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.
I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.
Too much of anything is harmful.
Vitamin A is likely safe for most people when taken by mouth or given as a shot into the muscle in amounts less than 10,000 units daily.
Vitamin A's RDAs (Recommended Dietary Allowances) is 3,000 IU (male) 2,300 IU (female).
Some scientific research suggests that higher doses might increase the risk of osteoporosis and hip fracture, particularly in older people.
I advice you to look into the superfood family powder nutrient fact list and just calculate the amount you are consuming and also advice you to consume around the RDAs values.
Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.
Sincerely,
For clarification - the RDA for vitamin A is for preformed vitamin A, correct? The form in the superfood is beta carotene - I believe it would be mixed carotenoids as it is just a variety of vegetables and fruits.
The RDA that you cite is for preformed vitamin A, not beta carotene, correct? Is there a downside to too much betacarotene?
The website says: Vitamin A
As much Vitamin A as in 1 Cup of Spinach.
beta-carotene
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Good to hear from you.
To be more specific, RDAs for vitamin A are given as mcg of retinol activity equivalents (RAE) and 1 IU retinol = 0.3 mcg XXXXXXX 1 IU beta-carotene from dietary supplements = 0.15 mcg XXXXXXX
An XXXXXXX cannot be directly converted into an IU without knowing the source(s) of vitamin A. For example, the RDA of 900 mcg XXXXXXX for adolescent and adult men is equivalent to 3,000 IU if the food or supplement source is preformed vitamin A (retinol). However, this RDA is also equivalent to 6,000 IU of beta-carotene from supplements.
Common side effects are Yellowing of palms, hands, or soles of feet indicating beta-carotene as a nutritional supplement is too high. Rare includes Diarrhea, dizziness, joint pain, unusual bleeding or bruising. So i again ask you not to consume more.
Hope i have cleared your queries. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer.
Wish you good health.
It seems like you will get a lot more in a single XXXXXXX salad. We eat a lot of XXXXXXX and other veggies, so we likely far exceed 6000 iu per day, but not in supplement form. Were you able to look at the link I sent you? It is whole food nutrition, so is it truly a supplement?
RDA for beta carotene
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Good to hear from you.
I went through the supplement facts that is been given in the web page and it mentions a level scoop contains 5000 iu of vitamin A. So i think it is Vitamin A value that is been displayed, but i am not sure.
While there is RDA for vitamin A, there is no RDA for beta carotene specifically.
At the end of the same web page they have mentioned the dosage to be 6 grams (1 rounded teaspoon) or more per day, so i advice not to consume more.
Hope i have cleared your queries.
Wish you good health.
