Brief Answer:
Don't stop the Levothyroxine yet; try both

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

I would recommend having a complete thyroid panel with all routine blood work taken now, and then repeat the labs in 1 month and 3 months while on the Thyroid PMG to see the benefits and changes. Thyroid PMG is not a replacement hormone like levothyroxine - it is more of a decoy to prevent antibodies from destroying your thyroid gland. Therefore, it may not have any effect on your thyroid levels or function at all. I would not stop the Levothyroxine until your labs start to show elevated thyroid function which would indicate that the thyroid PMG is working. Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism both have significant and detrimental effects on the body which can be fatal.

I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you have questions.

I will go to the doctor for her to check my thyroid levels on the 20th of Oct.. I will request a full panel done with all the blood work you suggested. My levels have came back normal but I feel so tired all the time. I just started taking the pmg 3 days ago.

Is it safe to take the pmg while taking my cymbalta ?

Brief Answer:
There is no reactions known.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

Feeling fatigue may mean that your thyroid levels are insufficient.

However, the most common causes of fatigue are:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Substance abuse/medication induced
- Viral illness
- Anemia
- Thyroid dysfunction
- Cancer, tumors, carcinoma
- Infections
- Obstructive sleep apnea

I have reviewed the research about Cymbalta and Thyroid PMG. It is limited, but it does not show any reactions. This does not mean that you will not have a reaction, but it means that there are not any reactions known.
