Is Taking Tramadol An Illegal Issue?
Question: Thank you. I go to a pain management doctor and have a prescription for Norco for Degenerative Disk Disease. The last several months (I had knee surgery several years ago) and my knee was starting to hurt some. My old prescription was for Tramadol and so I didn't take a Norco but instead took two Tramadol and it seemed to help me knee (not my back) more. I only took about a total of 6 that month. I was drug tested and she just mentioned it being in my system, but didn't say much. I just thought Tramadol was a step up from Ibuprofen. Anyway, I had about 6 left and took them and was drug tested again. I am sure it will show up. I do not have Tramadol anymore, it was from the old prescription, but I don't know if this is really something bad or not, if I am just being paranoid. I have an appointment with her in a few weeks and don't know if this is a real problem or not. I am not a drug abuser and just wanted to get advice from you. Thank you for your help.
Brief Answer:
tramadol is not a habit forming drug
Detailed Answer:
Tramadol is not a typical narcotic in the sense that it is not a habit forming drug.
So even if it shows in your system without a fresh prescription it jus means that you are taking it and not abusing the drug.
So rest assured and stay calm, even a positive result shall be of no trouble to you, eventhough the drug is from a previous prescription.
