My sister aged 40 is divorced and works in a small firm..she always had a problem of talking to herself ..but now..for the past one year..it has become very prominent. .she talks loudly and very animatedly. .she talks on and on..and one of her colleagues actually told us that she has been found talking to herself while at work too. She has no kids. We are getting very worried. We have tried counselling her at our level. But now the problem is getting serious. Is this becoming a mental issue?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for follow up
I understand your concern.
After going through your message i suspect that your sister is under schizophrenia. People with schizophrenia may have interpersonal changes like cognitive problems due to failed relationship, poor socio-economic status, lack of insight, fatigue and some times it may even lead to drastic changes in their behaviour.
You need to consult a psychiatrist as soon as possible and she may desperately need medications.
Get back to me if any query.
