There could be many causes for facial pigmentation like melasma, photodermatitis, lichen planus pigmentosus, toxic melanoderma, ashy dermatosis, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation etc.

The treatment and response achieved would depend upon the type of pigmentation you have.
