Hi, As you told ,you are having
lichen planus pigmentosus, biopsy proved...
Lichen planus pigmentosus is an uncommon variant of lichen planus characterized by hyperpigmented , dark-brown macules in sun-exposed areas and flexural folds.
Sometime it may be confused with
ashy dermatosis....
Erythema dyschromicum perstans (ashy dermatosis) is clinically characterized by blue-gray hyperpigmented mac- ules that sometimes present an elevated ac- tive red border. Distribution tends to be symmetric and is commonly noted on the face, neck, trunk, and upper extremities. Preceding annular erythema is frequently seen .
The treatment of LPP is difficult. Locally
steroids and tacrolimus should applied.
Orally steroids in tappering dose, azathioprin, methotraxate, dapsone,
griseofulvin and nicotinic acid should betried. There are reports for successful treatment with cholchicine. So consider cholchicine.....
Cholchcine is effective treatment for LPP.
