Good control
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
The sugar control is good, please continue taking this combination. However to know if your diabetic control even better I recommend that you get a HbA1C test done, it will show you the average sugar reading for the past three months. That is the best way to manage diabetes. Hba!C value <6.5 is considered as good control
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
I wish you good health

HBA1c was 6.3 in Nov,13 but at that time FBS was 138 and PPBS was 135. I was taking Galvus-50 +Metformin 1000 in the morning and Metformin 500 + Gliclazide 80 mg in the night.
My Doctor stopped gliclazide and doubled the doze of galvus with 1000 mg of metformin twice.
After one month FBS increased up to 150. then he added gliclazide 40 mg. After one week FBS was 125 as already intimated to you. my next check is due in the last week of feb. This time i will get HBA1c tested along with lipids.

Your blood sugar was in good control. Your doctor probably stopped the gliclazide because you were having good diabetic control and gliclazide has a potential side effect of hypoglycemia. None the less 40 mg is a very small dose, please continue taking it as advised
Please get back to me one you have got the Hba1c levels done. I usually order for Vit B12 levels as well, as low Vit B12 usually shows lower Hba1C but it is not required if you are a non vegetarian.
