Is There Any Home Relief For Pulsatile Tinnitus And Ear Fluttering?
Salt restriction diet.Avoid Caffeine.Sleep well.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
1. I have gone through all your previous questions in detail and it must be confusing to get different suggestions.
2. You have to first differentiate pulsatile (vascular) tinnitus from ear fluttering (muscular) tinnitus. Pulsatile tinnitus will always match your heartbeat. Muscular tinnitus can be due to myoclonus of the palatal muscles or the middle ear muscles (tensor tympani and stapedius muscles). This type of tinnitus will cause fluttering in the ear and in response to sounds.
3. Get a re-evaluation done keeping in mind the above. Upload a Pure Tone Audiogram (PTA) and an Impedance Audiogram (Tympanogram) with Acoustic reflex testing and admittance/ immitance values. This will require extensive testing by an Audiologist. Check whether the examiner can hear the tinnitus (Objective Tinnitus). Note if the tinnitus increases on clenching the jaw (TemporoMandibular Joint Disorder)
4. Anxiety, lack of sleep and excess caffiene intake may worsen these types of tinnitus. DO you have any family history of neurodegenerative disorders? This may also be early Meniere's Disease (low frequency hearing loss is seen initially and worsens with salt intake - a trial with salt restriction and acetazolamide (Diamox) will help), patulous eustachian tube (have you lost weight recently?). There are many rare disorders besides these and sometimes the cause is never known.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
Accupressure, lower or different noise exposure.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. It will be better if you try to identify the exact cause for your tinnitus.
2. Try various pressure points on the face and head, different jaw positions to see whether these relieve the fluttering. Try ear protection (ear muffs) or try light (Zen) music as sounds seem to trigger off the fluttering in the ears. try and follow my treatment suggestions mentioned in the previous answer and let me know the results.
3. Any further treatment depends upon the exact cause and will require the supervision of a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
