Suggest Treatment For 80% Damage Of Ears In A 66 Year Old

Dear Doctor, Good afternnon. The patient iam refrring to is my mother aged 66 years. She is a diabetic. Her ear drums are perforated and she is experiencing hearing loss. Offlate, she is not able to walk properly without support. Looks like she is going into depression. Her Doctor says one ear is 80% damaged and another ear is 60% damaged. Please advice. I stay in Bangalore. Kindly advice.

Hi,

In this case as loss of hearing is more than 50%.its better to try out a cochlear implant which can give at least partial hearing to one ear. Pls speak with her and spent time for her, which reduces the chances of depression.
