Is There Any Treatment For Hammer Toe?
Please send the picture
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The treatment is based on whether the hammer toes are flexible that is correctable by manual pressure or totally deformed. You may send the picture.
There are several treatment options like-
1.Wear properly fitting shoes; this does not necessarily mean expensive shoes.
2.Padding any prominent areas around the bony point of the toe may help to relieve pain.
3.Medication that reduces inflammation can ease the pain and swelling like ibuprofen.
4.A podiatrist may give you custom made insert to wear inside your shoe. This can reduce pain and keep the hammer toe from getting worse.
5.I would recommend foot exercises to help restore muscle balance. Splinting the toe may help in the very early stages.
There are several surgical techniques used to treat hammertoes. When the problem is less severe, the doctor will remove a small piece of bone at the involved joint and realign the toe joint. More severe hammer toes may need more complicated surgery.
Hope this helps and I shall be glad to answer any further query .
Take care

Hi
It's good to see you
If the toes can be brought to the normal position by stretching, then this can be manged and there further progression may be slow down by splinting and wearing shoes which support hammer toes. You may visit a podiatrist regarding this.
Meanwhile hot water fomentation along with Ibuprofen will help in reduction of pain.
Hope this suffices.
Take care
