Is There Interaction Between Priorix-Tetra And DTaP-HB-IPV-Hib Vaccinations?
Question: Dear dr,
My 18 month old had his priorix tetra 3 in 1 dose 2 , together with dtap opv 5 in 1 vaccine together on the same day. One at each thigh two days ago.
I'm worried as I read on the internet having so many vaccines at one go will have more adverse effect? However the dr I went to told me it will safe me another trip to come back again.
Baby is grouchy earlier before going to bed earlier. Crying non stop. Can't find a reason. I'm worried it had got to do with so many vaccines.
I had attached the immunization record for ur ref. 5in1 and 3in1 in a single day. Is it too much for bb to take ?

Brief Answer:
Not harmful
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I would like to reassure you that taking the vaccines you had mentioned together will not cause any harm.
Your doctor has rightly given the doses.
The crying, yes is because of the vaccines but it will decrease in a few days.
All you need to do is give some hot fomentation at the injection site to decrease pain. If persistent, ibuprofen baby can be given.
The vaccines wouldn't be harmful apart from pain and fever.
No need to worry.
If crying continues despite ibuprofen, you need to consult with your pediatrician and get your baby checked for other causes like ear infection, etc
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
