Is There Possibility Of HIV Transmission Through Rectal Or Anal Sex?
Question: Briefly a year and a half ago I was raped.
My question is due to I am a male and I was raped by a male. Is there a chance I could be HIV positive because he had an orgasm in my rectum?
I have heard if males have orgasms in another males rectum that could cause someone to be HIV positive. Even though no one was HIV positive before the rape.
The court made the male that raped me take a HIV test and he tested negative.
I have been tested for HIV and tested negative.
Thank You for your help. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Less chances if test negative after 6 months
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
There is a possibility of HIV transmission through male partners following rectal or anal sex. It is important to know when he and you got tested and results were negative. If tested 6 months after the rape then its unlikely that you are HIV infected. The HIV antibodies usually appear by 6 months if infected showing positive test results.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Yes Sir, I have had three test. The month after the rape. Showed negative. Tested again 7 months after that. Showed negative. Then recently 2 weeks ago which is 7 months after the last test showed negative.
So I believe I'm not HIV positive. Which makes me feel better.
My final question is something I would like clarity on.
Is it true or not true a male can become HIV positive through anal sex with another male? Even though neither of the two males has HIV.
I ask because my understanding is, if a male has an orgasm inside another males rectum. The sperm on the inside of the colon can cause the HIV virus to develop even though neither of the two males are HIV positive?

Brief Answer:
No infection if neither are infected with HIV
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in with an update.
I confirm that if neither of partners has HIV and have had anal sex then there is no possibility of HIV. This is because for infection with HIV there should be HIV infection in either of the partners and the virus should be able to spread from one person to other during sex.
In other words if neither of males has HIV then there is no way HIV can be transmitted.
HIV virus cannot suddenly develop out of no where inside the colon.
Hope your query is answered.
