Is Travelling Safe With History Of Strokes And Diabetes?

Traveling from California to XXXXXXX and staying for two weeks? I know that this is a dangerous undertaking, driving in a car all that way with her daughter's questionable
designs on her mother and the complete disregard for comfort, diet structure, daily schedule of rest and so on. I cannot stand by while this becomes a disaster.
Since I am not (family) there are limitations on my actions. A developed dialog with her doctor must be created. Do you have suggestions?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Good day.
Noted your conceren and appreciate your efforts.
Her clinical history of 3 strokes and diabetes probably makes her unsuitable for a long drive ( over 3-4 hours). However, if sufficent rest at intervals with overnight stay in a motel is provided, she should be okay. The main concern is dehydration, hypoglycemia and deep vein thrombosis ( DVT). All these can precipitate anther stroke.
Another risk is improper diet and dabetes getting uncontrolled. It is usual on long journeys to delay or omit food and medications at times. Urinary tract infection due to postpoining urination is another risk
If they decide to proceed despite medical advice, sufficient water and food should be stocked and importance of frequent rest and overnight rest shold be stressed. The daughter should be taught how to give first aid in an emergency. Need of frequent sugar monitoring should be stressed upon.
Wish you good luck.
