Brief Answer:
Before that, get a consultation!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this light discharge that you have reported over the past months. Vaginal discharge is not a typical sign of ovarian cancer. Also, doing CA125 is not diagnostic for cancer of the ovaries but capital for post treatment follow up.

My recommendation is that you get consulted and the cause of this vaginal discharged investigated and managed accordingly. There are several common cause of vaginal discharge like infections before thinking of cancers. From the clinical exam and the preliminary laboratory exams, if there is need to ask for this assay, it would be asked but it cannot be the first exam seen your symptoms.

In all, see a gynecological consultation first. If this test is necessary, you would be asked to but I will not recommend as a first line test. Its importance is really in following up persons who have had this cancer and not making the initial diagnosis.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
