Brief Answer:
It is not considered a traumatic brain injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thanks for using HealthCareMagic for your health related questions.

Coming to your actual query about venous sinus thrombosis, the answer is no, it is not generally considered a traumatic brain injury in itself. A traumatic brain injury happens when an external mechanical force causes direct brain damage such as a car accident, fall from a height or a violent blow to the head.
Did any such event precede your sinus thrombosis?

Saggital sinus thrombosis on the other hand, meaning blockage of the saggital sinus, one of the main venous blood vessels in the brain, is usually related to coagulation disorders. It is a subtype of stroke.
Typically it happens in women after birth (because the body has a tendency to overcoagulate to face blood loss during birth process).
Other common causes are use of oral hormone contraceptives, infections (sinus, ear), blood disorders predisposing for increased coagulation, inflammatory conditions etc.
Traumatic brain injury can sometimes be complicated with venous sinus thrombosis, but it is rare cause, most of the times is due to the other factors I mentioned above.

I remain at your disposal for further questions.
