Brief Answer:
Yes, this is malignancy ( cancer)
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Yes, the Well- Differentiated Liposarcoma is a malignancy, that is cancer.
By definition cancer( malignancy)id the change in group of the body tissue that change the normal character and stops obeying to the normal commands of the body regulation. They start behaving differently. At the same time they get the character of following things:: local spread- local destruction to other nearby tissues and dissemination by either blood stream or lymphatic channels to other parts of the body where they behave the same destructive way.
The cancer is said to be well differentiated when by histopathology examination the nuclei show the change of cancer but the cancer cells are difficult to differentiate from the normal cell pattern.
Luckily , the well differentiated form is less aggressive and can be cured easily by wide local excision and rare to be disseminated to other parts of the body ( 5 year survival and recurrence-free). Unfortunately all the tumors will not show the same behavioral pattern . It is unpredictable as how they will behave and the possible outcome.
So this is to be taken as a cancer, although you had a recurrence even after local clearance and a good prognostic type of a cancer.

Brief Answer:
Prognosis is still good.
Detailed Answer:
Not necessarily.
As per your Medical History, you 'had positive margins deep after last surgery'. Means possibly the surgery was inadequate and should have been rectified.
If the recurrence is treated in time the prognosis remains good only.
A good MRI can tell the status of disease at the moment.
