Is Wisdom Teeth Removal The Solution For Impacted Wisdom Tooth Growth?
imacted tooth, surgical removal, antibiotics.
Detailed Answer:
thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. the impacted wisdom tooth should erupt by the age of 21years. if the space is not sufficient for the tooth to erupt and if it is not in proper position then it has to go for extraction. there is no other option. consult your oral physician and get a radiograph done to check the status of the wisdom tooth.
if i am your treating doctor i would suggest you to go for removal of the tooth since it can result in many complications like pericoronal abscess or cyst formation which affects the mastication, speech and swallowing. it can also damage the adjacent tooth also.
take a course of antibiotics which reduces the infection but its temporary. you have to get the tooth removed. do saline gargling.
the procedure will be done under local anesthesia. if it is covered with bone the bone has to be removed little and tooth should be removed. you will be having difficulty in mouth opening, swelling for 3-4 days after removal. i hope my answer will help you. if any queries are there reply me back. take care.
prophylactic extraction, rct to next tooth
Detailed Answer:
if the space is present and wisdom tooth is properly aligned, if you can maintain oral hygiene then you can retain the tooth, but wisdom tooth is a non functional tooth it wont serve in any function. so better to get it removed prophylactically. the next tooth, if it is infected then treat that with RCT and get capped otherwise if it is not infected then no need of RCT. till second molar you need to preserve the teeth because they help in mastication.
