Knee Replacement Surgery Done. What Should Be Done To Get Relief From Pain?
Welcome to healthcare magic. Thank you for your query.
It is about 11 days since knee surgery has been done. Knee replacement obviously is a major surgery. Most of the patient wants rest after operation. But early mobilization is important.
Probably thigh & leg muscle was not properly used due to pain. So they gradually become stiff.
He needs to build up strength of the affected muscle.
Proper pain management is important. You can control this by medication. Although pain after surgery is quite variable & not entirely predictable. It is better for your patient to keep pace gradually with his activities. The patient may be fitted with a continuous passive motion exercise machine that will slowly & smoothly straighten & bend the knee.
If it is still problematic, then you may keep him in a rehabilitation center for a few days.
I hope I have been of some help to your concern. Please write if you have any doubt.
Take care.
