Hi,

Thank you for posting the query.

At the outset, I would like to appreciate you for recognizing that one needs to take care of one’s own health and that you have already started working on it. I have gone through your attached reports.

Coming to your blood and other reports:

1. Your BMI or Body mass index i.e. the ratio of your height (in centimeters) to your weight (in kg2) comes to 30.2, which puts you in the obese category.

2. Your Blood pressure reading of 154/85 mm Hg as a single reading is high for the systolic measure.

3. You total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol ('bad cholesterol') is on a higher side and your HDL cholesterol (‘good cholesterol') marginally low.

4. Your Hemoglobin, Red blood cell count and Hematocrit are high which brings me to ask you the question as to your smoking history or that if you suffer from any lung ailments.

My suggestions to you are as follows:

A. Continue the good work that you have started 2 months back of exercising 5 days a week. See to it that you put in moderate degree of aerobic exercises 30-45 minutes per day and resistance and strength training exercises on alternate days

B. Control your dietary intake of oils and fried food. Increase intake of fruits and vegetables. Ideally it is advised for all adults to consume a minimum of 5-6 portions of fruit/vegetable (one portion=one small fruit like XXXXXXX or banana/1 large bowl of cut fruit like papaya/watermelon).

C. Stop the intake of alcohol and smoking if any.

D. Sleep for at least 7 hours a day.

E. Once you have incorporated these life style modifications, repeat your bloods especially your lipid profile in 6 months time.

F. In the meantime, get your blood pressures checked at three different occasions from your Diabetes or any chronic illnesses it is important that you get yourself examined annually so that diseases if any are detected at an early stage and treated appropriately.
The tests that you have got done are basic that any Physician would ask you to get done at your age which include a Complete blood count, Lipid profile, Kidney and liver profile.

I would only request you to get an EKG (Electrocardiogram) done so that you have a baseline heart work up done. A Calcium and Vitamin D3 levels will help in knowing the bone status.

Hope I have answered all your queries. Do get back to me if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Dr. Gowri.
