Hello there,

Thanks for writing your query.

Your query seems to be incomplete; regarding removal of decayed tooth, I can add the following information;

Tooth decay is nothing but bacterial infection that spreads to the deeper structures of the tooth and sometimes may involve the tooth nerve tissue leading to pulpitis.
Instead of removing the decayed tooth, we can save such infected tooth by root canal procedure, provided the periodontal status of the tooth is good. That is, if the tooth is not mobile.

Root canal procedure disinfects the tooth by removing the infected nerve tissue and the root canals are cleaned, shaped and filled with permanent restorative material. Once the treatment is completed, the tooth can be restored with prosthetic crown coverage.

If the prognosis of the tooth is poor and it cannot be saved consider getting the tooth removed by a dentist.

I hope this information helps you.

Take care,
Regards,
Dr.Farah Hussain.
