Medication For Hair Loss? Safe To Use Propecia?

Question: Hello, what is the medication available in India for hairloss? Is there a Propecia equivalent (generic brand)?

Note that I have thinning of front scalp / receding hairline. I would appreciate a solution that includes products I can buy in India, but including the ingredients of the major brands. I am also open to combinations of treatments. I am not interested in hair surgery.

Thanks for the query.

As you mentioned you have frontal thinning, It suggests you are suffering from androgenic alopecia.

There are four modalities of hair fall control.

1. Medical- This includes products like androanagen tablet and application of minoxidil solution.
2. Basic therapy- This includes use of LASER comb, Dermaroller and accupuncture etc to control hair fall, It gives better result than medical.
3. semisurgical - This includes platelet XXXXXXX plasma. where blood is drawn , platelets seperated and injected on scalp.
4. surgery- Hair transplant.

If you just want medical therapy you can take tab androanagen daily and apply minoxidil lotion.
