Noticed Lump On Arm. Getting Pins And Needles. Should I Be Worried?

Two days ago i started getting arm ache but thought nothing of it, then last night i found a lump the size of a 2 pence in my left inside arm crease where blood is taken from. When my arm is bent you can't see it, but when it's straight it stands out.
The lump doesn't move but does hurt and the area around it, i get a pain that tingles down my arm to my hand and gives me pins and needles.
The lump is not red or bruised, and i have not banged/injured my arm.
Would like some advice please, but think i will make an appointment to see my GP
Kind Regards

Thanks for posting your query.
There a few possibilities as to what a lump in the elbow crease can mean. These are
1. Ganglion Cyst: This is because muscle tissues in the area of the joints can become inflamed through strains, sprains or repeatedly being injured.
2. Synovial Cyst: is again a fluid-filled sack
3. Lipoma
4. Swollen Lymph Node: This can be due to infections like bacterial or viral.
5. Bursitis or Epicondylitis: This is also a infectious tissue.
The pins and needles sensation is due to the nerve roots getting compressed by the lump or the surrounding inflammation.
To get rid from this problem you may need a course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs. Usually these types of lumps get recovered by medications. But it is always advisable to consult your doctor and get clinically examined. Nothing can be commented without clinical examination of the lump. So feel free to consult your doctor.
I hope this answers your query.
