Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Here is my story...back in 2003 I fell at work and injured my right hip and knee at that time. I had x-rays done and was diagnosed with arthiritis. Later on I was diagnosed with bursitis. I had had therapy, pain medication and the pain has re-occured after a year or two. I was able to work through the pain for a while but now, without pain medication, the pain and dis-comfort is much worst. What could be the problem? I have recently been diagnosed with Bursitis again...is it possible for this condition to flare up again with subsiding? My age is 50 my height is 5 3 and weight is 203.
As per you history, what I see is, it's a old injury. and also a complete rehab plan will still make you have same symptoms at any point of stage in life. As body once gets injured will always be on a non reversible side. initial ages there are healing process which allows new tissues to come and become better. but in certain areas the injury is irreversible and also at the later stages of life it shows symptoms of pain and inflammation.
There will be a lot a muscle weakness too. so to avoid or reduce the chances of recurrence of the pain symptoms you need to constantly keep doing exercises to improve to range and strength. In many cases arthritis is not a one day or one month process. it's always a long term building process of ageing process of the joints and muscles. Thus, a regular exercise to help improve the strength and agility is always helpful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
