Noticed Purple Line On Toenails. Started Spreading With Pain. How To Cure This?
Question: I have purple/grey horizontal lines in my big toenails. It started at the base & is now spreading, it's painful & part of my nail just lifted up one day. I might be diabetic.. Is this a bigger concern?

Horizontal lines in my big toenails,with lifting of nail and in addition you say you are diabetic, strongly suggest that it might be a fungal infection.
This condition is called as onychomycosis.
However it is usually painless, presence of pain suggests some mixed bacterial infection also.
You need a long term treatment with oral antifungals, and a short course of antibiotics.
Dont worry it is not a severe condition but you must not neglect it. XXXXXXX a dermatologist whenever you get time.
Get a blood sugar level done.
