Operated Twice For DNS. Not Getting Cured. What Is The Solution For Blocked Nose?
Please note that I dont work in dusty conditions and also wear cloth mask while driving. Nose blockage persists for the most of the time.
Hello, I am Dr Ravinder Sharma. ENT surgeon
Nasal blockade may be because of a variety of reasons
1. Deviated Nasal Septum
2. Hypertrophy of the Turbinates (soft tissue bulges in lateral wall of nose)
3. Nasal Polyps
4. Chronic rhinosinusitis
5. Allergic rhinitis
It appears that you have been operated twice in past for DNS. As you have told that you work in clean enviornment and uses mask. I would like to know
1. Do you have history of nasal discharge on exposure to dust?
2. Do you have history of sneezing? If yes How much? and How often?
Possible causes of nasal obstruction after surgery are
1.Deviation of nasal septum is co existent with allergic rhinitis.
2. Post operative adhesions after surgery (fibrous bands in lateral wall of nose and nasal septum)
3. Undercorrection of deviation
I would advise you to get a CT scan of PNS coronal and axial cuts done and send images for review. I assure you that this is a treatable condition
I hope this answers your concern. Do let me know if I can help you further
with warm regards
Ravinder Sharma
