Thanks for posting your query.
Your description of complaints are not specific to any medical condition. There is one likely possibility that I could think of though. There may or may not be any correlation between the small bump and urination. Let me try to explain it.
It could be something known as umbilical hernia or a para umbilical hernia. This is a condition that occur when abdominal muscles become weak to the point that the intestine underneath protrudes through that defect. This happens due to multiple of reasons. And because of friction of intestine with abdominal wall pain can occurs.
In this case the bump you are seeing disappears as you lie down and becomes visible when you stand or strain. It is possible that you might be straining while passing urine. This increases pressure in abdominal cavity and causes intestine to protrude through the defect. Thus the pain.
In such case when the defect is big you can also feel gap in the muscles your self or by an abdominal examination by a doctor. Please try to feel it. The gap and the swelling should be obvious when ever you cough. Please let me know if this happens.
If you are looking for a confirmatory diagnosis, you will need a physical examination and an ultrasound to know the size of defect.
Management of the condition depends on the size of the defect and the symptoms that you have.
I hope, I have answered your query If you have any other clarification, write again to me,I will gladly reply it.
Bye for now and take care.
it actually happend when i went for # 2 my stool was a little hard so i had to press a lot.
also the bump feels more like a knot , it stays there also when i am laying down.
it moves a little up and down and when i put pressure on it with my finger thats when it hurts the most. it almost feels like a muscle knot and is righ under the skin
could it be a hernia ?
XXXXXXX
what could i do to get rid of it
Good to read from you again.
No, this does not seems to be hernia. The characteristic that your describes does not fit in to this.
This could be a small fat nodule under the skin or some kind of cyst under skin( a bag like structure, filled with some jelly like material and can come up any where in body),which may there since long but you have accidentally noticed it because of pain.
You should wait for some time,if it increase in size or become red or painful even without disturbing it then you need to see your doctor for physical examination.
In any case there is no reason for worry. You can apply some analgesic cream over it which you are comfortable with and in case of more pain even an oral analgesic can be taken.
Bye and take,
Wishing you Good health.
